   Proposal Description:
   Differential diagnosis of frontotemporal and Alzheimer's dementias is often challenging, despite the development of biomarkers. It is recognized that FTD generally has an earlier age of onset than AD, but reported prevalences of FTD have varied markedly, likely due to geographic, diagnostic, and other factors. Recognizing that NACC is a overrepresentation or underrepresentation of FTD, the aims of this project are nonetheless to: (a) describe the age-specific neuropathological prevalences of FTD and AD (b) describe as comparator in NACC sample the age-specific prevalences of clinical FTD and AD(c) identify any age-related differences in clinical accuracy using neuropathology as a gold standard.
